2017 was the highest year of new car sales in Australia’s history, and the sales data from 2018 show that this trend is continuing.

The Australian auto industry achieved record sales in 2017, with the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) counting a total of just under 1.2 million sales nationwide, representing a 0.9% increase on 2016’s sales.

A booming automotive sales market has its challenges though. There is constant pressure on increased sales targets and downward pressure on margins for dealerships.
